It all started during a visit to one of the many bustling warehouses stacked high with rolls of A-grade, export-quality fabric. But it wasn’t the perfection that caught our founder’s eye—it was the pile tucked away in the corner. Smaller pieces, slightly flawed, labeled “B-grade.” When asked about it, the warehouse manager casually mentioned that this fabric usually ends up as cleaning rags… or worse, in landfills.

That moment sparked something.

Why should beautiful, perfectly usable fabric meet such an undignified end? Why not turn it into something meaningful, something that could still carry a story?

And so, the idea for Tomatotes was born.

What started as an obsession with saving fabric became a mission to give it a second life. After sampling products across different categories, one thing made perfect sense: bags.

From fabric once meant to be turned into fancy dresses or drapes, we began crafting bags that could be loved, carried, and lived with. Every Tomatotes bag carries history—rescued fabric, reimagined into something new.

But we didn’t stop there.

We built stitching units that empower women—offering them a chance to earn, learn, and lead. For us, sustainability doesn’t stop at fabric. It means uplifting the community too.
